Corporation began when William started selling koi wholesale to local pet shops in 1980. Over the next several years, he expanded to building koi ponds as a general contractor as well as breeding and spawning koi. He has made many trips to Japan to acquire additional koi and to expand his understanding of the pond environment. Due to his interest in koi, along with his knowledge in business operations, his company grew. W. Lim Corporation became a leading distributor of numerous high-end supplied and parts. As he gained more expertise, William began experimenting and engineering better pumps, filters and systems integration. He developed The WAVE SUPER EFFICIENT PUMPS, which ultimately became W. Lim Corporation’s registered trademark. In 2000, William introduced the "WAVE I”, “WAVE II” and “DRAGON SERIES” which utilizes custom motors and impellers.

William continues to research and experiment with motors, pumps and filter systems to improve their effectiveness. Quality is always the key to any product he develops. Collaborating with Baldor Electric Motor engineers, he continues to work on a unique motor to harmonize the WAVE pumps for greater water capacity and efficiency. His objective to reduce operational costs and electric usage, while increasing reliability, has now become a part of W. Lim Corporation's mission statement.
